| Decription: | We are seeking a highly skilled Solar Electrician with expertise in industrial-scale solar power systems and large battery energy storage solutions (BESS). If you have hands-on experience in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting high-capacity solar PV systems for industrial and commercial applications, this is your opportunity to join a dynamic and innovative team. Key Responsibilities: 1. Installation & Commissioning: • Install and connect industrial-scale solar PV systems. • Conduct wiring, terminations, and electrical connections per engineering drawings. • Test and commission solar and battery storage systems, ensuring compliance with electrical codes and performance standards. • Coordinate with engineers and site teams to optimize system layout and performance. 2. Maintenance & Troubleshooting: • Diagnose and repair faults in solar inverters, battery storage units, and high-voltage switchgear. • Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize system downtime and optimize efficiency. 3. Safety & Compliance: • Ensure all electrical work meets SANS, IEC, NERSA, and local regulatory standards. • Follow electrical safety protocols when working on high-voltage equipment and energy storage systems. • Maintain detailed records of system installations, inspections, and service reports. 4. Collaboration & Reporting: • Work closely with engineering teams, project managers, and other electricians on large-scale solar projects. • Provide technical support during site assessments and feasibility studies. • Train and mentor junior electricians and apprentices in industrial solar and battery storage installations. |

| General Requirements: | Education & Certification: • Qualified Electrician (Red Seal preferred). • Certification in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) (preferred). Experience: • 5+ years of experience as an electrician, with at least 3 years in industrial/commercial solar projects (multi-MW scale). • Proven experience with grid-tied, off-grid, and hybrid solar systems. • Strong expertise in large battery storage solutions (Lithium-Ion, Flow Batteries, or similar technologies). • Knowledge of industrial electrical systems, transformers, switchgear, and power distribution. Technical Skills: • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and engineering drawings. • Experience using electrical testing tools such as multimeters, insulation testers, and thermal imaging cameras. • Proficiency in SCADA, EMS, and remote monitoring systems for solar and battery performance tracking. Other Requirements: • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to industrial project sites in RSA and other SADC countries. • Ability to work at heights and in extreme environmental conditions. • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
